Water quality affects property prices:a case study of selected Maine lakes This study looked at the role of water quality has over property values and compared lakeshore properties varying only in terms of lake water quality. The study concluded that good water quality added as much as $200 per frontage foot to the value of property An improvement of 3 feet in the depth of water clarity would result in $11 to $200 more per foot of shoreline property value, potentially generating millions of dollars in increased value per lake .
